Today we found the first acceptable apartment to rent but both Neil and I got vehemently ill thinking of the price.
Question:
Do you rent a dump for a ridiculous price or do you blow your budget and rent a nice place?
I say blow the budget -- therefore I am insane.

I was excited to be moving to Toronto.
HELLO??? I lived in BEAUTIFUL VANCOUVER! -- clearly I am insane.

I am impossible to live with (poor Neil) -- ok -- that doesn't make me insane, it makes him insane but I'm still calling that #3

I think TO is a slum -- but it is the biggest city in Canada so I am clearly in the minority here, thus insane. In my defence, it is easily the dirtiest Canadian city I have ever visited and I have visited many. In its defence, today on day 4, we did see some nicer neighbourhoods. Vancouver still kicks its ass though...

My aunt is excited that we are to stay with her forever -- I mean indefinitely (or do I...) -- until we either blow the budget or move to a slum - thus she must be insane -- making me doubly insane by association. heehee.
More insanity to come...
Hey there -- my goodness. Why don't you step back and chill. First, you moved to Toronto, ...exciting. I'm sure there are very nice places in Toronto if you're willing to compromise. For example, find a place out of the downtown area, and train-it. The money saved could go towards the train ticket...or if no money saved...well, it's a new experience so just suck it up and do it!!I realize that moving from a place like Sask to BC to TO you may feel that TO is a slum (and I know that deep down you feel Regina is a slum but that is a matter of opinion....of which I know you are not alone but w/e....just so you know...I love Regina...call me a hick but I do!) You have to start making the best of your current situation, quit your whining, and just find a place and settle. If I recall, when you first moved to BC you hated it and now look at you.....you think it is the best place on Earth. Now, I've never been to TO but I'll be out there visiting soon ...so can I really comment?? ...maybe not but I do know YOU.Take some advice from your debt-filled bro. Do what makes you happy with what you have even if you have to go out of your normal "means" to get it. Life is about debt, compromise, and more debt...face it already So, evaluate: You are in TO, this cannot be changed. Thus my recommendation, find a *nice* place, compromise...weigh the pros and cons, and it will start to feel like home before you know it. Quit whining already...things are not that bad! There, enough of my babbling already....Your bro~TPS: If you keep whining...I'll have to brush up on my Vulcan death grip and you'll have that to look forward to when I get out there....
