While I've been bored...

I've been keeping busy by creating two new blogger sites. Both are family related and relatively mundane (by that I just mean that they will not likely appeal to a mass audience, beyond my family).

The first is Underwood Baby . This site has been created to chronicle my not-yet-born niece's existence.

The second is Harry's Way Cool Place . A Site devoted to my super cute nephew Harrison.

In other news, I believe I have gone and gotten me a part-time job. It's a convenient little work-from-home gig where I get to evaluate educational websites. It is flexible, in that when I do finally get noticed by some Ontario school district, I will be able to keep this job.

In case any of you were wondering about my last "job interview" -- well it was conducted 50% in french. I believe that tells you all you need to know.

Parlez-vous l'anglais? Je ne parle pas le francais.

Funny enough, I don't think the interview went all that terribly -- except for the fact that the position was to teach core french. If they require core french teachers to be fluent in french, no wonder they can't find anyone to teach it! Maybe the fact that Ontario is so close to Quebec plays a part because being unable (non-fluent) to speak french had no bearing on being able to teach core french in BC. If you knew some vocabulary and could follow a lesson plan, you were good to go. I suppose that is a sad reflection on our education system today and I guess I should be glad that Ontario has some standards... even if they do get in the way of me getting my foot in the door.

Okay - while it may have been treacherous at the time...I love the fact that 50% of your interview was conducted in French. How did you cope? That is definitely a Bridget Jones scenario.

I am just now able to talk of the experience. It was a lot of ... [question en francais] ... pardon? ... excusez moi? ... silence... [next question]
