I am LOST...

Man, whoever came up with the idea to put TV on DVD's was bloody brilliant. I first discovered it's brilliance when a friend mentioned how wonderful it was to watch the series "24" on DVD -- no commericals, no waiting for the next freaking episode to find out that Jack Bauer was alive but his stupid daughter was kidnapped and about to die... or was she? Damn it! And to wait until next week to find out how they would cliffhanger the next freaking episode. It was enough to drive me freaking bananas. It was the reason that by midway through the second season of "24" I had to say goodbye to Mr. Jack Bauer and Co. -- I couldn't handle the cliffhanger endings followed by a week's wait. Clearly, I get way too involved in my television viewing and have no life.

I have a couple of shows that I have/did religiously watch: Gilmore Girls (Go Christopher -- Luke is so wrong for you Loreli!) & Buffy the Vampire Slayer (only one of the best shows EVER)

Not a long list. This summer I watched seasons 1&2 of Grey's Anatomy -- that has been added to my list.

Then we got a Personal Video Recorder (PVR). It is the most wonderful invention since sliced bread. Easy to program, it stores anything you may want to watch with the click of a button. Missed that line ... oh let's just rewind live TV and hear it again. You never need to find a tape, worry about taping over something or figure out how to program the damn VCR.

Neil started taping The Daily Show with John Stewart and The Colbert Report. We now watch them over supper every day. Then I added The Mercer Report and House (I really enjoy his sarcastic, people hating personality) -- 2 more shows to watch weekly.

Then I did something extra stupid. I was at the video rental store lamenting over the fact that there are just no good movies made anymore. There was a time when I would have seen almost everything. Now, nothing that graces the shelves seems worthy of viewing. Hollywood has gone to the dogs. So, I ventured into the "TV" section and rented season 1 of "LOST". My parents love "LOST" -- if I ever happen to phone home while "LOST" is on, I am pretty much told to get "LOST" (lovingly, I'm sure) -- and I should note that this also seems to be the case for Survivor and Star Gate SG1 as well... Anyway -- I started watching it -- and now I'm hooked. And even though I am behind an entire season, Neil has started PVRing them for me.

So you see -- the PVR, while fantastic, has opened this vortex of television viewing. How will I ever be able to keep up?

What do you people watch religiously? Not like I have room to add anything -- but I am mighty curious... what am I missing out on in TV land -- my new favourite destination.
