Niagara Falls

On the last day of my family's vacation out here, we checked out Niagara Falls.

The Falls were less spectacular than I had anticipated until...

... we boarded the Maid of the Mist and sailed right up to the falls.

Overall, Niagara Falls was nice but it is also a tourist trap (think Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, theme park rides, etc...) -- but it was still nice to see. When Neil and I go back we will do the "Behind the Falls Tour" -- I think that would be cool.

I feel OOOOOOOOOOOOOld.

Thirty has arrived.

(Note how Neil put in 2 + 9 candles -- smart man!)

It arrived amid a sea of boxes that never seem to end, in my new place that smells like paint (walls) and varnish (floors). Maybe I am high off the fumes but it really wasn't that life altering.

My parents left for the journey back to Regina on my birthday after lunch. There was cake and pleasantries.

I got a set of World Poker Tour Mugs from my brother that I had purchased as a prize for Poker Night and he won and then re-gifted back to me.

I got groceries from my parents. Fitting, as there was only a 1/2 litre of milk and some sandwiches my aunt gave us in our fridge.

My husband gave me a Nintendo Game Cube which perhaps speaks to my unwillingness to grow up. I am still a kid. Complete with a need/want for toys (though I think it also speaks to his need/want for toys as well -- it's a win-win)

All in all, I am looking forward to what my thirties will bring...(except when I think of babies travelling down my birth canel)

Our new place is in the middle of Toronto. It is by far, the most urban dwelling we have ever lived in. There is noise, traffic and people about at all hours. We live on the 15th floor of a high rise and have the most amazing view (esp. at night when the lights off yonder are twinkling.)

It is the first place I have ever been where I was convinced in 1 day that the way to get around was by transit. To drive here is nuts. If you can commute via TTC -- it is a dream.

I have been negligent in my blogging and in my correspondence with people as of late. I hope to get things back in order within a few days. Bear with us!
