Linda's Shower

Tagged:

As if throwing a kick-ass kids party wasn't enough for one weekend, Tess (with my help) hosted a wedding shower for our friend Linda on Sunday.

It was very nice and I'm happy to say that everything went smoothly.  Between the two of us, we've now hosted a few showers (both wedding and baby) and we have a collection of fun and wonderful games that will not make your guests groan or shudder in horror.  My sister is not much of a "people" person but she ran the show very admirably yesterday... I was so proud of her!!  (Aww, sisterly pride)  Tess is in the wedding party and can now destress for a day before things get hectic again.

Here is the host with the bride.  (check out that bun in the oven... or should I say, Taco!)

I have a few more pictures.. not many.. you can check them out here if you want.

The first wave has arrived!

The lead up to Grey Cup (for me) began yesterday when I arrive at TO's Pearson airport to pick up the first wave of friends heading into town for Grey Cup. Here we are:

It should be noted that we were trying to preserve our
Rider Green & White for the festivities to come.

I have started a new photo set on Flickr called, Rider Mania / Grey Cup 2007. Be sure to keep an eye on it as I may post pictures there faster than I can blog about events.

Picking up the second wave of arrivals this morning. Then we're headed out for lunch. Tonight: Riderville!! WOO HOO!!

In case you were wondering, no one is safe!

On the eve of a milestone...

As many of you know, tomorrow is a monumental birthday for someone we hold near and dear.

That's why, as I contemplate how to celebrate with her, I've decided to take a walk down memory lane.

So without further adieu,

I met Kendra in highschool. As you can see, she was a bit quirky. But, boy -- did she know how to party. Whether it be passing out in a snowbank on a cold New Year's Eve, racing through culverts at a "dirt road" party in Condie, or getting a congo line going in her livingroom -- no one could tie one on like our Kendra.

Enter the university years -- you'd think we'd be more mature -- but to be honest -- I have no recollection of this next pic of the two of us (what is that in my hand??). New friends mixed with old friends. Ahhh, and the now infamous "Treherne" week-end. Good Times!!!

And how can I forget that time you tried to entice Neil with your lucious ass -- Whhhoooooooo! (that's a pleasurable yelp -- for those of you that have never heard the story -- ask Ms. Chorney about it!)

As we got older we started to act like grown-ups -- well some of us anyway.
(see our Kenr on her best behaviour at Kevin and Tracy's wedding...)

That brings us to the present...

Happy Birthday, Kenr!

You haven't slowed down at all -- red wine, anyone?

Sorry I can't be at your party next weekend!

Please leave a comment -- what's your favourite Kendra memory?
