I have to say, I think that NyQuil has zero effect on my cold symptoms. What it does, however, is keep me in a warm, fuzzy, drugged-up state of sleepiness -- and for that I am very thankful. For the past several days, I have been feeling like ass. Dry scratchy throat, hurts to swallow, runny nose -- (and I want to take issue with the new Health Canada suggestion that I should sneeze into my elbow -- my hands can be sanitized with a variety of different products -- it's far more embarrassing when you are out grocery shopping and you sneeze into your elbow and leave a "surprise" on your winter coat...)
I even passed on my awesome cold to Neil, who also ended up feeling like ass. He stayed home on Friday. So since Friday we have been housebound, housecoat bound, and doped up on NyQuil -- Sad, sad excuses for human beings.
Yesterday, I thought I was on the road to recovery. Alas, no. I woke up at this morning at 1AM desperate for another NyQuil fix. Ahhhhhhhhhh. It knocked me out and I woke up this morning at 11:30AM feeling the worst I've felt yet. I felt disgusted with myself for about 2 seconds -- why can't I shake this bug???
That's when I looked out the window and realized we were receiving our first, stick to the ground snow in TO. Back to bed I went. No guilt now -- who'd want to go out in that mess.
I beg you all, beware the cold that won't go away. And if you get it, do your self a favour and indulge in a NyQuil cocktail! I highly recommend it!
