Happy Easter!

Today was strange. Around us, we heard that people were celebrating Easter but between you and me, it was just like any other Sunday. Thinking back, this is the first Easter in a while that I have not gone home for a visit. Kind of sad and kind of not. It's just too expensive to fly home for a long weekend. I don't know why but flights Vancouver-Regina were much cheaper than flights Toronto-Regina. Guess the parents, siblings, niece and nephew will just have to wait until summer to be graced with our presence.

In other news, I've been hired in another school district. Just need to get a physical (statement of good health) and a TB shot (a +$70 touch -- didn't we get this immunization when we were little???). It boggles the mind, these requirements. It just seems that there is zero continuity between districts -- and yet the job is the same. I just about lost my load the other day when I was told that the Vulnerable Sector Screen required by this district could sometimes be completed in one day at certain locations. Don't even get me started. I'm just happy that I'll likely be working by the end of the month.

Over and out,
MSK

Wanna know something awesome (or not) about the TB shot?
I had to do a lot of research for a story I covered on international TB day, after talking to a few doctors I discovered that the shot does little to nothing for adults.
Fantastic, hey?
