Lockdown!

Tagged:

What a strange day! Over the past few years, schools have started to get stricter with security. There are now (in many schools) "lockdown codes" in the event that something bad happens. Today was the first time I've ever seen it used. Apparently, the RCMP called the school I was subbing at to notify them that something was "going down" near the school. They requested that we "lock down the school." Essentially this entailed locking all the doors and closing windows and drawing the blinds -- and the kids couldn't go out at recess time. Crazy times we live in!

It was all resolved by lunch time... and I don't think anyone was told what was "going down"
