Neil's Job Search drags on...

I hate uncertainty. I am positive that I am driving Neil crazy. He interviewed with SFU last Friday -- it went well. Hopefully we'll hear soon about that -- they should notify him either way. He has another interview this Friday at TRIUMF (a Physics Lab) that is on UBC campus. Things seem to be positive... there are bites, but I want things settled!! Hire him already!!! He's a bloody genius.

I want to know where we are headed. Regardless of where the job is, we have to move. Even if it's within the lower mainland. They want to tear down our building. We got a letter from the "relocation specialist" asking us to tell her whether or not we require her services. She apparently needs to know either way. I laughed at this as we had a private tenant's meeting in our building last week where it was brought to our attention that her specialty was relocating senior's into senior's homes. I understand that we have a lot of old people in our building -- but really, at 29, though retirement sounds fantastic, I'm not really ready for a care home. It annoys me because she was hired to "ease the relocation process" and essentially all that I can tell that she does is look at the rental postings online. -- Well, I can look up rentals on the internet just as well as she can and what would really help is for our owners to cover our moving expenses, the cost of changing/ moving our utilities and changing our addresses -- we didn't decide to move -- this is essentially an eviction.

While I'm on a bit of a rant...
Today I was threatened by a 10 year old. Mouthy little guy too. Apparently he didn't take kindly to me asking him to sit out during PE for being disruptive. Well when I sat down on the bench next to him -- he told me to "take a hike" using rather colourful language... After I reprimanded him for his choice of language I smiled and said I was going to stay put, especially if it bugged him so much. I'll admit, I kind of baited him though he was at this point driving me nuts with his incessant whining and complaining. He then proceeded to tell me he was going to sue me for bugging him. He was serious. Whatever kid! Good luck with that!

Watch for this tagline:
"She was bugging me!" whined the 10 year old who cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
